Experience
Nafiye is as a faculty member in the Department of Civil Law at Istanbul University Faculty of Law. She specializes in personal data protection law, electronic commerce law, civil law, the law of obligations, and consumer law. After completing her legal internship in 2008 at Gün Law Firm, she worked as a research assistant at Beykent University Faculty of Law and has been serving at Istanbul University since 2011.
In 2024, Dr. Yücedağ joined Yazıcıoğlu Legal as a senior counsel focusing on personal data protection, technology and commercial contracts, and the law of obligations.
Education
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nafiye Yücedağ completed her undergraduate studies at Ankara University Faculty of Law (2007) and her master’s degree in European Union and International Law at the University of Amsterdam (2008). She wrote her doctoral dissertation on the right to replacement by comparing the CISG and the provisions of the Turkish Code of Obligations within the scope of the Private Law Doctoral Program at Istanbul University, completing it in 2015.
Following her doctorate, Dr. Yücedağ has primarily focused on personal data protection law. She is one of the co-authors of the textbook Personal Data Protection Law and has also published a book titled Consent (Explicit) to the Processing of Personal Data in Electronic Commerce. Her articles on various aspects of civil law and personal data protection law have been published in numerous peer-reviewed journals, and she has delivered presentations at national and international events.
